Momentum continues to build at the Curry School of Education as U.S. News & World Report announced it 2018 national ranking of graduate education schools.

The Curry School broke the top 20 — coming in at 18th — for the first time in more than two decades. Among U.S. public schools of education, Curry ranks in the top ten.

The Curry School’s rise is a reflection of the academic excellence and the success of the faculty to earn increased investment in research efforts at the school, noted Bob Pianta, dean of the Curry School.

“Not only have we grown and innovated in academic programs, but throughout this period we have dedicated our efforts to securing sponsored support for our research,” Pianta said.  “Our faculty’s success in obtaining highly competitive federal grants has led to a steadily growing portfolio of funded projects.”

The continuous trend upward in the rankings from 31 to 18 over the past decade puts the Curry School in an ideal position for UVA's upcoming bicentennial campaign.
